Pre-shredders for scrap metal and bulky waste
A pre-shredder (or preshredder) is the first size-reduction stage in a scrap processing line: it opens up bulky scrap and end-of-life vehicles so that the hammer mill shredder receives a steady, uniform feed. ZB Group’s high-torque PREDAX and PSZB pre-shredders cover throughputs from 15 to 120 t/h, improve hammer mill performance and reduce the risk of combustion in the shredding chamber.
They prepare materials such as end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and scrap bales, improving safety, preventing explosions and increasing the efficiency and throughput of the main hammermill.

How we develop our industrial solutions
Each project is developed based on an analysis of the material, the required production capacity, the available space and the client’s recovery objectives.
Based on this information, we define the most suitable technical configuration, integrate the necessary equipment and support the implementation of the solution through to commissioning.

Where is it installed?
Where is a ZB preshredder used?
ZB preshredders are installed at the start of scrap recycling plants, just before the shredder or hammer mill. They reduce the size of and homogenise end-of-life vehicles (ELVs), bales and bulky scrap, ensuring that the shredder receives a consistent, safer and more efficient feed.
Integrated cleaning and sorting systems
In addition to shredding, we help recover value from scrap by integrating aspiration, cleaning and sorting systems.
